Ranking List Rules

KirriCorp is made up of fans dedicated to the continued enjoyment, and possible future progression, of the Duel Masters™ Trading Card Game distributed by Wizards of the Coast. The official 'staff list' is not currently available, but the site has one main administrator, one main card translator, and multiple researchers. Many of these people also take up jobs as chat staff, despite the lenient nature of the #KC chatroom, and many act as moderators for the forums, which are far stricter than the chats. Currently, the author of the Fan Fiction upon which this site is based, and head researcher, is the site's Administrator.

To the right of most pages of this website, one can generally find the highest ranked KC duelists, listed by skill level with the deck mentioned under their name. Currently, this list is not automated, but there are plans to automate the ranking system in future. For now, this page will outline the rules and procedures for participation.

To get onto the list, you may find and issue a Rank Challenge to any of the duelists in slots #23 through #25. If you defeat them, the deck you used is considered 'registered', and should be given a name (currently this has not yet been fully enforced). You may make adjustments to this deck, but you may not change it completely. A system will be implemented later on with more specific restrictions on how much a registered Ranked Deck may be changed. For now, just try not to change more than 5 cards at a time.

Once you have got onto the list, you may issue a Rank Challenge to the player above you, or the player above that player. Defeating either one will allow you to move into their slot and they be bumped down by one. In the event of a player being absent for a long period of time, two things may happen. The first, is that if you are not interested in rising particularly quickly, they will simply be dropped a rank or two and more active duelists bumped up. The second possibility is that a duelist will be allowed an extension of their Challenge Range to 3 or even 4 duelists above them.

You are only required to accept a Rank Challenge every third day (absent days do not always count, so this period may become longer). That is, you may turn down a challenge today if you accepted it on the day before, and you may turn it down on the day after that as well, but if you do not play on the third day and have no excuse or do not make a promise to play on the fourth day, the challenger will obtain your rank. The reason for this is simply that if you are not willing/able to duel often enough, you should at least allow those who are, to rise.

If you lose a Rank Challenge you may not challenge the same person again until the next day, under any circumstances. However, this does not mean that you cannot make other challenges. For example if one duelist defeats you and then begins to defeat other people on the same day, putting them in your range, you may challenge them also, though they are probably less likely to accept. This covers the current rules of Rankings. To report a victory, use the chat room's memo system and memo -> Bell. Currently ranks are not always updated immediately.

If one wishes to join either the Forum Staff, or Research Staff, application must be made through the appropriate channels (see the forums for further information on this). No applications for Chatroom Staff will be accepted. These positions are available only through direct offer from an Administrator. Research by non-members of the Research Staff will still be taken into consideration as long as it is properly presented. Joining the Research Staff is basically volunteer work with extra responsibilities and should not be something one bothers to seek just for the sake of gaining 'respect'.
